WHO WE ARE

 
Thrive Africa provides opportunities to volunteer in Ghana on sustainable development projects and gain experience in the development sector. Our projects are developed with local stakeholders and implemented by our team, volunteers and stakeholders.

OUR HISTORY

 
Thrive Africa started life in 2009 as a UK (1138902) & Ghana (D.S.W/5822) registered charity, after 4 years of hard work we were able to empower the charity in Ghana to take full control of operations and place them in control of the charities future.

2014

 
LIBRARY BUILDING

  • 79 School libraries built.
  • 100,000+ Books donated.

CAREGIVER HOUSING

  • 14 additional rooms built in 7 Caregiver homes.

ORPHAN WELFARE AGENDA

  • Income Generating Farms built for up to 200 caregivers in 24 communities within the Upper East Region of Ghana.
  • Implementation of Caregiver Fund.

KUMASI CHILDREN’S HOME

  • Maintenance work on Thrive Africa Vegetable Garden at Kumasi Children’s Home.

2013

  • 77 School libraries built
  • 80,000+ Books donated
  • 74 Farms built for caregivers of HIV/AIDS Orphans.
  • Over 6,750 Trees planted as part of our disaster prevention programme.

2012

  • 64 School libraries built
  • 80,000+ Books donated
  • 18 Farms built for caregivers of HIV/AIDS Orphans.
  • Distribution of bicycles to caregivers without means of transport.
  • Over 4,000 Trees planted as part of our disaster prevention programme.

2011

  • 22 School libraries built

  • Built Kumasi Children’s Home vegetable garden

2010

  • 8 School libraries built
  • 16,000+ Books donated
